DryRod Technical Reports

DryRod Damp-Proofing Rods have been rigorously developed and tested by both industry experts and academic institutions. The following reports and certifications confirm their proven effectiveness:

Safeguard Europe — DryRod Development Report

Safeguard Europe, the developer of DryZone (the first and most tested damp-proofing cream since 2000), launched a 3-year research program to improve rising damp treatments.

This report details:

  • Analysis of existing damp-proofing creams
  • The concept and formulation of DryRod
  • Scientific testing of both creams and rods

Conclusion: DryRod outperforms all previous damp-proofing methods.

University of Portsmouth — Independent Evaluation

After DryRod's development, the University of Portsmouth’s Materials Science & Engineering department independently tested the product.

Dr. Zhongyi Zhang led water absorption tests on brick and mortar samples treated with:

  • Low- and high-strength creams
  • Two DryRod formulations
  • One untreated control sample

Results: DryRod-treated samples absorbed significantly less water than all others.
Conclusion: DryRod is the most effective rising damp treatment in this study.

Fast & Effective:
A typical home can be treated in just a few hours with no mess and no dosing errors thanks to the pre-measured rods.

Extensively Tested:
Developed by Safeguard Europe, a leader in damp-proofing for over 30 years.
DryRod-treated walls are over 4x more resistant to rising damp than the next best method.

Reliable in All Conditions:

  • Works in old/new masonry and mortar (high/low alkalinity)

  • Performs in cold or freezing temperatures

  • Effective in up to 95% wall saturation

  • Suitable for porous materials, cavity walls, rubble infill, stone, and single-skin walls
